Police respond to report of body found at Oceanside home

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - Police are investigating the discovery of a body at an Oceanside home.

10News learned police received a call just after 8 a.m. regarding a man found lying on grass at a home in the 2000 block of South Tremont Street.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 18-year-old man had blood on his face and abrasions on his arm, according to Oceanside Police. Patrol personnel called in crimes-of-violence detectives to investigate, Officer Kathleen Vincent said.

 A cause-of-death ruling will remain on hold pending autopsy results. The name of the deceased was being withheld until his family could be notified of his death.

No arrests in the case had been made, Vincent said.

Detectives from the Crimes of Violence Unit are asking anyone with information to call the Oceanside Police Department at (760) 435-4911.

About six hours later, a woman’s body was discovered face down in a canyon several miles north and east of that location.

The medical examiner was also called to determine her identity and cause of death.
