NATIONAL CITY (KGTV) -- A body found floating in a canal south of State Route 54 in National City has been identified as AJ Romero, 26, who was reported missing since a crash four days ago.
Romero's body was spotted in the Sweetwater Channel Friday morning and divers were called in.
Romero had been involved in a crash in the area earlier this week.
Family members contacted police and were at the scene as a police dive team was working to recover his body.
They were later informed by officers that the body was that of their family member. The name of the deceased man has not yet been released by authorities.
The crash, which involved a truck hitting the back of a bus, happened Nov. 14. The driver of the truck was seen fleeing the scene following the crash.
