SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have identified the suspect and officer involved in a shooting in the Bay Park Neighborhood on November 17.

Police say they received a call around 7:30 in the morning on November 17 from an 80-year-old man who said his 47-year-old son, Kenny Bui, who had previously battered him, returned to the home.

When officers arrived and saw Bui walking out of the garage they say he fled into a neighbors yard.

Police say they saw Bui holding what appeared to be a rifle. Officers also saw a knife in the waist of Bui’s pants.

Police say after Bui pointed the gun at an officer, the officer, identified as David Sisto, fired two rounds from his handgun. Sisto is a 7-year veteran of the department.

Officers had to use a K-9 unit to arrest Bui after he ran into the bushes.

After treatment, it was determined that Bui was grazed by a bullet on the top of his head. The wound is non-life threatening.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
