SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are working to find the person who stabbed two people - one fatally - in City Heights Monday night.
The homicide happened in the 4100 block of Manzanita Drive, near the entrance of Manzanita Canyon, around 9:30 p.m. San Diego Police officers arrived to find a 29-year-old Hispanic man unresponsive, bleeding from his upper torso.
The man was transported to Mercy Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified but police are not releasing his name pending family notification.
SDPD also located a woman suffering from a wound to her upper torso at the scene. She was transported to Mercy Hospital as well for treatment.
The woman's condition is unknown. She has been identified but police are withholding her name pending a confirmation of her condition.
Several people were taken into custody following the stabbing, but it's unclear what led up to the incident.
SDPD said they are looking for a Hispanic male last seen running from the canyon along with an unknown female. Anyone with information is asked to call SDPD's Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
