SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas (KGTV) -- At least 26 people are dead and dozens more injured after a shooting at a church in Texas Sunday morning, according to ABC News.

KSAT identified the shooter as Devin Kelley of New Braunfels, Tex. He reportedly fled the scene and is dead after a brief pursuit. ABC News reported Kelley has no known ties to terrorism.

The shooting took place at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, which is located about 35 miles east of San Antonio, according to ABC affiliate KSAT.

A witness reported seeing a man walk into the church around 11:30 a.m. and open fire.

The victims ranged from 5 to 72 years old. Among them is 14-year-old Annabelle Renee Pomeroy according to her father, Frank Pomeroy, who is a pastor at the church.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued the statement below following the shooting:

"While the details of this horrific act are still under investigation, Cecilia and I want to send our sincerest thoughts and prayers to all those who have been affected by this evil act. I want to thank law enforcement for their response and ask that all Texans pray for the Sutherland Springs community during this time of mourning and loss."

President Donald Trump took to Twitter after the shooting saying, "May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan."
