MISSION VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) -- It's the end of an era for a hotel in Mission Valley. The Mission Valley Resort is closing its doors on Saturday after more than half a century.
Over one hundred employees will be out of a job, but the employees knew the closure was coming.
Some of the employees have worked at the resort for more than 30 years.
Evangelist Morris Cerullo purchased the resort in 2011. Cerullo plans to open a Legacy Center. The center is an 18-acre complex. It will have a lecture and performing arts hall, a theater, and even a spa. The center will create 180 jobs on site.
The resort's restaurant the Valley Kitchen is serving customers until Saturday.
The Legacy Center is expected to open in 2019.
