BEAUMONT, Calif. (KGTV) - Firefighters are battling flames Tuesday near Highway 79 in Riverside County.
The fire, dubbed the Manzanita Fire, has burned 5800 acres and has 20% containment since it started Monday.
Voluntary evacuations are in effect for four streets in Banning, east of the fire, and the communities of Poppet Flats and Silent Valley.
The fire started at 3:10 p.m. when a car crashed and caught fire. The driver and passenger were injured and taken to a nearby hospital.
Riverside County is under a red flag warning for fire with strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures.
