San Diegan Sam Kambo shared video capturing moments after the attack. It's video that was shot by his friend Raju Singh.
"He said he was inside the store and that's when he heard people screaming and they were running all over," Kambo said.
Kambo facetimed Raju from his restaurant, Royal India in Miramar to see if he was ok.
"When he stepped out, there were a lot of people injured and they were already died because of their injuries," Kambo said.
Raju's business sits in the heart of the Las Ramblas district. He says he saw the van that plowed into the crowd.
He says hours after the attack - he was forced to stay locked inside. He gave us a look inside - tourists sitting on the ground - still in shock.
Sam says his friend wasn't hurt and he's thankful he was able to chat and see Raju through video.
