SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A carjacking attempt at the San Diego International Airport put a man in the hospital with several knife wounds Saturday night.
The stabbing happened around 5 p.m Friday. Harbor Police say a couple had just flown in and were loading luggage in a long-term parking garage when a man with a knife put his arm around the woman’s neck and demanded the keys.
According to police, the woman’s husband jumped in to defend her and was stabbed in the chest several times.
The woman wasn’t injured, according to police. Her husband was taken to the hospital for surgery and is expected to survive.
The suspect is describes as a Hispanic man wearing a grey hoodie with a black backpack and black pants.
Police say the suspect is 5 foot 3 inches tall, 160 pounds and has shoulder-length hair.
