CHULA VISTA, Calif. - Authorities asked the public Wednesday for help in finding a man suspected of kicking a woman into unconsciousness during a quarrel at a South Bay motel.

Surveillance video captured images of a man identified as Dorian Chavez Angiuano, 42, parking a car in a lot outside the lodge shortly after 7 p.m. on Aug. 6, and apparently arguing with a female passenger inside the vehicle for several minutes, according to Chula Vista police.

The security camera footage then shows the couple getting out of the sedan and the man hurrying around to the passenger side, where he violently kicks the woman twice -- first in the back, knocking her to the ground, then in the head, after which she lies still.

At that point, the man struggles to pick up the limp victim and loads her into the car before getting back behind the wheel and driving off before police arrived.

Authorities subsequently identified the victim but did not release her name. Police also declined to disclose the extent of the victim's injuries or her relationship to the alleged assailant.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts or this case is asked to contact CVPD's Family Protection Unit at 619-691-5192 or CVPD's non-emergency number at 619-691-5151. If it is an emergency situation, please call 911.
