A woman was horrified after a man riding the MTS trolley exposed himself and began masturbating while looking at her.
However, the woman felt victimized twice after she called MTS to report it.
"And this person was telling her, 'Well, the next time he comes, call or text," said Monica Valadez, the victim's mother.
The incident happened Monday on the Green Line at about 11:30 a.m. between the Morena and Grantville trolley stations.
The 24-year-old woman called the MTS safety line about 30 minutes after the incident and told a dispatcher what happened.
10News obtained the call through the California Public Records Act.
The following is an excerpt:
Dispatcher: "OK, so next time that happens, ma'am, you can give us a call [at] this number and we can respond right away because at this moment I have no idea where that guy is at."
Victim: "OK."
Dispatcher: "You can actually text us as well."
"She didn't ask a basic description, color of hair, height, weight, color skin, eyes, nothing, she didn't ask any of that," Valadez said.
Valadez said her daughter is afraid to ride the trolley now.
"She doesn't feel safe. She pays for a trolley pass monthly. She should be able to feel safe every time she gets on that trolley," Valadez said.
10News reached out to an MTS spokesman after business hours Tuesday and hopes to have their response on Wednesday.
