SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A driver was taken to the hospital after an SUV slammed into a Talmadge-area home Thursday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. at a home off Monroe Avenue, near 52nd Street.
A San Diego Fire-Rescue Department official told 10News that the SUV’s driver suffered an unspecified medical emergency, causing him to drive into the home.
The driver’s son was not hurt in the crash, the official said.
A neighbor told 10News he heard a noise “that sounded like a bomb” and rushed to the scene after seeing the vehicle inside the house.
The neighbor noted that the child appeared shocked at what had just occurred.
No one was inside the house at the time of the crash, but the fire official said a structural engineer will assess the damage and home’s structural integrity.
