LAKESIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- The body of a missing hiker was found at El Cajon Mountain Sunday morning nearly a day after he went missing.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the body of Thomas Mark Castiglia was found near El Monte Road.
The department says Castiglia started hiking to Lunch Rock with a group around 8:30 a.m.
“Castiglia told several other hikers he would be hiking at a slower pace advising the group not to wait up for him,” a news release said.
Castiglia is an experienced hiker with no known medical conditions, according to the department.
He was last seen wearing a black sweater, black shorts, a green hat and was carrying a green backpack with blue hiking poles.
