SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A fire that tore through about 400 acres near Lakeside is now fully percent contained, Cal Fire officials announced Thursday.
According to Cal Fire, the Jennings Fire erupted off Interstate 8 near Olde Highway 80 in the Flinn Springs area at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. By 6 p.m. Thursday its was 100 percent contained.
As crews battled the fire, authorities closed I-8 in the area and ordered the evacuation of nearby residents.

Over the next 24 hours, crews on the ground and in the air were able to stop the spread of the fire, holding it to 400 acres burned.

Officials confirmed three firefighters were injured while fighting the blaze -- two with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.
Fire officials believe the fire may have been sparked by a car's exhaust.
No structure damage or injuries were reported.
