SAN DIEGO – Authorities are searching for a driver who struck up to three people in a busy area of Pacific Beach in the early morning hours Friday and then fled the scene.
San Diego police report that just after 1 a.m., a four-door sedan traveling the wrong way in the 900 block of Garnet Avenue struck at least two men who were crossing the street. The car, which was going east in the westbound lanes, slammed into the victims and never stopped, police said.
The victims, ages 23 and 25, were transported to nearby hospitals. One suffered a traumatic brain injury and the other sustained a laceration to his forehead. Witnesses told 10News that a third man was also struck by the car, but that was not immediately confirmed.
There was no description of the suspect or the vehicle.
