One of the largest Memorial Day events in San Diego is in trouble with less than a week to go.
Volunteer organizers say they are in dire need of water bottles and money.
Jeff Simonides of the Fort Rosecrans Memorial Day Committee said they have not heard from the sponsor who donated three pallets of water bottles to the event the past few years. Simonides said Sparkletts donated about half a pallet but they need more for the volunteers and visitors who will be at Fort Rosecrans on Monday.
He also said they need about $4,000 to cover the expenses of police for traffic control, buses to bring people to the cemetery from satellite parking and scholarships for students.
