SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Four people were injured Monday during a fire at Naval Medical Center San Diego, formerly known as the Balboa Naval Hospital.

The fire broke out about 11 a.m. in an orthodontics room at the dental clinic in Building One of the facility on Park Blvd.

Three staff members and a patient were injured. The patient was taken to UCSD Burn Center, according to Navy officials. Two staff members are staying at the hospital overnight for observation. A third staff member was treated on-site and released.

The Navy has not determined the cause of the fire. All four people injured in the fire are reportedly in stable condition, according to officials.

The clinic closed for the rest of the day on Monday. They'll resume regularly scheduled appointments on Tuesday.
