CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Several residents were displaced early Friday morning after a fire erupted between two Chula Vista homes.
A man told 10News he was walking home after shopping when he saw that a part of his friend's house on Helix Avenue was on fire. Officials said the fire initially broke out in an area in between the two homes at about 3 a.m.
Residents from both homes escaped without injuries, and pets from both houses were also taken to safety.

Unfortunately, the fire burned valuables from one of the homes.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
