SAN DIEGO -- A man in his 60s was severely beaten Thursday afternoon, possibly at the hands of two males seen running from his garage in San Diego's Encanto neighborhood.

Dre Wilson, the victim’s neighbor, told 10News he saw two males run from the victim's garage in the 200 block of 65th Street a little after 3 p.m. and get into a waiting vehicle. He went into the garage, found his neighbor lying helplessly with severe facial injuries and called 911.

“His whole face was swollen, his eyes were shut… He was bloody everywhere,” Wilson said.

The victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest. Doctors were forced to induce him into a coma because of the swelling in his brain. His condition Friday morning was not confirmed.

Wilson was able to snap a quick picture of the suspect’s car, described as a black Honda Accord with steel wheels.

Detailed suspect descriptions were not available and it was unclear if a weapon was used in the attack, San Diego police said.
