(KGTV) - Customers who need to complete a California driver’s license or identification card application won’t have to leave their homes to fill out the necessary form.

California Department of Motor Vehicles officials said an easy-to-use online application is available on the DMV website. Customers can complete the required fields for a driver’s license or ID card. Once customers arrive at a DMV office, their completed form and information can be accessed quickly by DMV officials.

In order to initiate the online application process, customers will have to create a DMV website account. An active phone number and email address are required for identity verification through a secure two-factor authentication process.

On the online application, customers can choose to be an organ donor or begin the process to register to vote. However, voter registration cannot be fully completed until the customer visits a DMV office and submits the application in-person.

DMV officials said customers can also use special touchscreen terminals at field offices to complete the license or ID application.
