NATIONAL CITY - The county Medical Examiner's Office has identified a man who was fatally hit by a vehicle while walking his dog Monday.
Robert Turner Gustafson, 81, was struck by a vehicle on the 2200 block of East Fourth Street near V Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Gustafson was taken to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Efrain Gabriel Black, 20, had originally been wanted for allegedly being the driver of the vehicle that hit Gustafson, but turned himself in to National City Police shortly before 12 p.m. Tuesday.
The county medical examiner had withheld Gustafson's name pending family notification.
Black was booked in to San Diego Central Jail Tuesday on $100,000 bail pending arraignment on Thursday.
