SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Rancho Bernardo postal worker has tested positive for coronavirus.

The employee works at the U.S. Postal Service's 16960 Bernardo Center Dr. location, according to USPS.

"We are in process of reaching out to the local public health office and will follow the guidance they provide. We believe the risk is low for employees who work at the Rancho Bernardo Post Office, but we will keep our employees apprised as new information and guidance becomes available," USPS said in a statement.

USPS did not share the condition of the employee, citing privacy concerns.

"Out of an abundance of caution, we have enhanced and supplemented current cleaning protocols using disinfectants across the facility," USPS' statement added.

The postal service said it is following CDC guidelines to ensure the health of its employees.
