EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A "Wings of Rescue" flight brought animals from shelters in Texas and Louisiana to San Diego County Monday due to Hurricane Harvey.
The 85 dogs and 20 cats were living at a shelter in Lafayette, La. when Harvey made landfall. They were moved to make room for animals evacuated during the hurricane, said John Van Zante of Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
The pets will be transferred to the San Diego and Rancho Coastal Humane Societies, and Labradors and Friends Rescue.
