Two homeless men discovered dead outside of Otay Mesa business

OTAY MESA, Calif. (KGTV)-The bodies of two homeless men were found dead in front of a business in an Otay Mesa strip mall early Wednesday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department. 

A patrol officer first discovered two men who seemed to be sleeping in front of a closed business around 2:45 a.m. near 3400 Palm Avenue near Beyer Way. The officer later realized the men were both deceased with significant upper torso trauma, officials said.

The victims are described as a 56-year-old white male and a 61-year-old white male. Police said both victims are homeless and have been identified but their names will not be released until family is notified. 

San Diego Police are currently investigating the incident as a homicide.
