Man, 25, Stabbed To Death In Hillcrest

SAN DIEGO -- A 25-year-old man died Thursday after he was stabbed in the chest on a street in Hillcrest, police said.

The man was found in critical condition lying on the street in front of a business at 1050 University Ave. around 2:30 a.m., San Diego police homicide Lt. Terry McManus said.

Paramedics attempted life-saving measures en route to a hospital but he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m., McManus said.

The man's identity was withheld pending family notification.
