SAN DIEGO (KGTV)--Long summer nights during a kid's school vacation can sometimes beg for a change of pace.
Consider bringing the family to the San Diego Zoo's summertime celebration - Nighttime Zoo.
The Nighttime Zoo runs now through September 4 and features new kid-friendly activities like:
- Villagers of Africa Rocks - This African entertainment group treats audiences to traditional music and dance.
- Dr. Zoolittle and Friends Explore Africa - The "fearless leader of fun" heads up a magical and educational show at the Koalafornia Boardwalk.
- New Friends Rock! - Watch a new trampoline show full of super-bouncy acrobats and laughter
Traditional favorites, like Zoolahoops, also return, along with music and dance the hip-hop group the Funky Monkeys.
Parents, the zoo hasn't forgotten about you! Grab some grub and cocktails from the "Happy Happens" $6 and $7 menu at Albert's Restaurant in Lost Forest, or you can always relax with an icy adult-beverage from Zoo Brews.
Nighttime Zoo hours:
June 18 - June 30 & Aug. 20 - Aug. 31: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
July 1-Aug. 19 & Sept. 1-4: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
