Kimberly Hunt

Anchor, 10News Live At 5 p.m., 10News Live At 7 p.m., 10News Live At 11 p.m.

Kimberly Hunt began her career as an anchor/reporter at the CBS affiliate in Monterey, CA. But it was when she arrived at 10News in 1987 that she became part of a groundbreaking news duo. With Carol LeBeau, she made history as one of the country’s very first female co-anchor teams on a primary news cast. After fifteen years at KGTV, Hunt joined the KUSI news team as their evening anchor in October, 2002. Now she is back with Carol and the 10News team as co-anchor of the 5:00p, 7:00p and 11:00p newscasts.

Hunt’s experience also includes covering the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco, where she worked for Peter Jennings and ABC Network News as a researcher. After the Democratic National Convention, she worked as an associate producer for ABC’s Monday Night Football. She has displayed the journalistic skills and versatility required to anchor live coverage of everything from Presidential visits and political conventions to the Academy Awards and the Super Bowl.

Dedicating her career to broadcast journalism has earned Hunt numerous local and regional awards for excellence in reporting including multiple Emmy Awards, a Golden Mike and the Attorney General’s Crime Prevention Award.

Over the years, Hunt has committed herself to non-profit organizations such as the San Diego Rescue Mission, United Cerebral Palsy, Burn Institute, Mama’s Kitchen, Room to Read and Opportunity International.

Born in Ventura, California and raised in Napa, Hunt graduated from San Francisco State University. Today she resides in San Diego with her husband, former San Diego Chargers linebacker, Billy Ray Smith, and their daughter.
