Houston, TX -- (Sports Network) - Aubrey Coleman scored 19 points to lead the Houston Cougars to a 73-64 victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in a non-league affair at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Qa'rraan Calhoun added 15 points for Houston (2-1), while Marcus Cousin and Kelvin Lewis both contributed 12 points in the win.

Uros Komadinic netted 14 points for WKU (0-1), while Orlando Mendez-Valdez and Steffphon Pettigrew chipped in 11 points apiece in the loss.

The Hilltoppers limited Houston to a pathetic 27.6 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 37-27.

However, the Cougars clawed their way back in the second stanza, shooting 48.4 percent from the floor en route to the nine-point victory.

Houston netted 18-of-23 shots from the foul line, while the Hilltoppers connected on all seven of their attempts from the charity stripe.
