Marie is the proud daughter of Filipino parents. She graduated from Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Minor in Political Science from California State University, Northridge.
Prior to returning home to Southern California, Marie was a reporter and anchor at WTKR in Norfolk, Virginia and WHAG in Hagerstown, Maryland. Before that, Marie worked as an assignment editor at KTNV in Las Vegas, Nevada. Marie got her start in television news, working as a reporter and host for Adelphia Cable in Simi Valley. In addition to news reporting, she's also worked for the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Marie is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) and is active in the Filipino-American community.
Outside of news, Marie is a huge football and baseball fan. She loves being back in her hometown cheering on her favorite teams the Chargers and Padres. She enjoys family days with her husband and their two sons.
